Veteran Story: Ephata Sepon was born in 1918 on Badu Island, Queensland. When he enlisted on 11/9/1942 he was living on the island of his birth and was married to Betty. He served as a private in the Torres Strait Light Infantry Battalion for 1180 days operating out of Thursday Island. He was taken on strength with the Torres Strait Camp Infantry Company. He discharged from service to the Protector if Islanders on the 3/12/1945. There is no record of medals in his service record. Epthata died on 28/8/1976. His daughter requested a copy of his records in the year 2000.
